In observance of Thanksgiving, all Montgomery County Memorial Library System locations will be closed on Thursday, November 26 - Sunday November 29. Libraries will close early at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 25. All locations will resume normal hours of operation on Monday, November 30.
Adopt-a-Book:
Holiday Shopping that Benefits the Library
Each of the seven branch libraries in Montgomery County are participating in an Adopt-a-Book program that launches on November 9, 2009. Seasonal holiday displays at each library feature Adopt-a-Book ornaments, encouraging patrons to add the library to their holiday gift lists. Customers may pick out ornaments, which contain the images and purchasing information of specific book titles on the library’s wish list. Customers can take the ornaments with them and buy the featured book or they may donate the dollar value for the book and let the library do the shopping. Donation forms are available for additional monetary contributions that allow customers to adopt a book, bookshelf, or even an entire shelving section. Customers may choose to focus their donations on certain areas in the collection if they wish.
A popular book can be shared by over 100 people when it circulates at a public library, so participating in the Adopt-a-Book program truly is one way to give a gift that will keep on giving back to the community for years to come.
Print the Donation Form, and adopt a book today!
