| Literacy Volunteers of America is a national organization founded in 1962 in Syracuse, New York, to combat illiteracy. LVA's mission "is to reach adults whose literacy skills are very limited or non-existent and to provide volunteer tutors who can teach reading, writing, and English speaking skills. LVA provides the professional training, materials and support that enables the volunteers to be effective tutors." Together we can fight illiteracy in Montgomery County.
