PLEASE NOTE:
Basic PC skills,( such
as how to use a mouse and keyboard,) and software classes (such as how to
use Word or Excel,) are available at the Mitchell,
Montgomery, South, and Tullis Branches. Class schedules are available from
the links below. Contact individual branches for more information.
Classes at the Central Library are designed to
introduce participants to searching the World Wide Web, setting up a web
e-mail account, and using the library catalog and databases.

Computer classes fall on the third Thursday of
the month at 6:00 PM.
- May 15th - Keyboarding Basics - This is a
beginning level class for those who wish to become familiar with typing on
the computer and keyboard features. Please register at Meador Branch
Library.
- June 19th - Publisher - Learn how to
create fliers, cards and more with Publisher. This class requires basic
computer literacy skills. Please register at Meador Branch Library
starting May 1st.
- July 17th - Email Basics - Learn how to
create and use an e-mail account. This is a beginning level class and
requires no previous computer experience. Please register at Meador Branch
Library starting June 1st.

These classes are free to the public.
Patrons who want to participate in these classes need only come into the
library and sign up for them at the second floor Reference Desk.
All classes take place in the 2nd floor computer lab.

Internet Access and Computer Use at
the Library -General Information

Filtered Internet access is offered at
all locations. Contact individual branches for details.
- Please review
the library's Internet Use Policy prior to using the Internet from a library
computer.
- Some Internet PCs also have a variety of software (including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint).
- Spanish PCs are also
available at most locations.
- There are time limits on computer use.
Check with individual branches for details.
- There is no charge to use the
computers. There is a charge for printing. Purchase of a print card is
required. The initial cost is $1.00. That includes a one-time fee of.50 for
the card and .50 credit for prints. Prints are.10 for black & white and .50
for color. Dollars can be added to the card for additional printing. The card
is reusable. Do not throw it away, it is a debit card for printing from the
computer print station and from the copy machines.
- The Library does not sell floppy disks or writable CDs. If you are working on a document or
need to save information it is recommended that you bring your own working
disk, flash drive, or writable CD as well as a backup disk.
